Sparetime Laying Down USBC Blue Pattern
Sparetime is laying down the USBC Blue pattern on Monday nights for bowlers to preview the shot that will be used in the Maine State USBC Open tournament which begins April 7.
State Open Tournament Entry Forms are Available
Entry forms for the Maine State Open Tournament are now available. They can be picked up at the front desk at Sparetime Recreation. The tournament begins April 7 and runs through May 6.
Chuck Clavet Becomes Oldest to Bowl 300 Game in LAUSBCA League
Chuck Clavet rolled a 300 game in the Public Service League on 1/3/12 becoming the oldest member to do so at the age of 72.
A Slew of Honor Scores Recently Bowled
There have been a slew of honor scores bowled recently in leagues. Sarah Pelletier became the first woman to bowl a 300 game in a Lewiston league. Scott Moore threw his 11th lifetime 300 game. James Goulding added an 800 series. For a complete list of honor scores bowled this year, click

October Bowler of the Month

The William Smith III Bowler of the Month is Tom Carter of the Northwood Park League (Monday). Tom exceeded all others by bowling 27% above his average for the month of October. The Bowler of the Month award is proudly co-sponsored by LAUSBCA and Sparetime Recreation.
Two 300 Games Bowled Last Week
There were two 300 games bowled last week at Sparetime Recreation in Lewiston. Fisrt, on Monday night, Arthur Pearl of the Northwood Park League bowled a 300 game in his second game. The other 300 game came in game 3 bowled on Thursday night Industrial Park League by Tim Mercier. It was the first 300 game for both Arthur and Tim.
2011 Annual Awards Dinner
The annual awards dinner was held Saturday, November 12 at Marco's Ristorante. Joan Goulding was inducted into the LAUSBCA Hall of Fame. Others being honored included Ali Breault (Bowler of the Year), Scott Moore (Bowler of the Year), Gene Paradis (High Series), Marsha Burgess (High Series), as well as many bowlers being honored for 300 games. Women's Tri State Tournament Held in Lewiston
The 41st Annual Women's Tri State Tournament was held in Lewiston for the first time since 1978 last month. The tournament featured 61 team entries with a host of singles and doubles entries. Among the locals doing well in the tournament:
- Sarah Pelletier placed fourth in singles scratch and second in all events scratch as well as first in doubles scratch with Emily Brigham
- Deb Edgecomb placed fifth in singles handicap
- Ali Breault & Pauline Bosse placed 7th in doubles scratch
Sarah Pelletier bowls the season's first 300 game
Sarah Pelletier rolled the first 300 game of the season in the M.I.S.T. on Sunday, October 16 in Waterville. The perfect game was Sarah's second, er first 300 game came while bowling in the Youth Travel tournament as a member of the LAUSBCA Youth league. For a complete list of 300 games, go to the

Scott Moore bowls 2011-2012's first 800 Series
Scott Moore bowled the first 800 series of the season on
October 6, 2011 in the Industrial Park league. Scott began the
night with a 247 game followed by a 299 game, his second 299
game of the season. He finished the night with a 254 game. The
805 series was Scott's tth all time, which leads the association.
